A Healthy outside starts on the inside

As part of our PSHE topic this term we have been looking at what we need to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The children have been great sharing their thoughts and ideas with each other and we have looked not only at their physical well being but mental health too. We would like to share with you our ideas on how to support our physical and emotional well-being.

Habitat Walk!

Our Science topic this term is based outside as we are looking at the Habitats of animals. What better way to study this than venturing out into our fantastic grounds on the search for different habitats. Mr Teesdale kindly shared with us this week the camera footage he has of badgers and foxes sharing the limelight one winter's night!

Nutrition!

We had a fantastic morning with Mrs Gregory as she shared her nutritional knowledge with us. The children learnt about the rainbow of foods we must eat and what each food group gives our bodies. The children played a game made by JoJo and her Mummy where the children had to guess what food was being displayed on their heads by asking questions. A great fun morning full of information to assist our learning!

Another informative session was given by Yusuf today as he brought in some artefacts which represent his Islam faith. Yusuf was able to explain to us about the Quran, his prayer mat and the Tāqiyā - the skull cap worn by many Muslim men. He was a great teacher and we all learnt some new facts!
