Time for Tea and berrytastic!

This week Mrs Donaldson's Housekeeping club treated all the teachers with a most welcoming cup of tea and piece of fruit cake. It was served at 4pm and not in a mug but a cup and saucer! It was a real treat and much appreciated. Next week it's polishing shoes....Mr. Teesdale will be delighted!
Forest School have certainly embraced our 'Operation Pied Piper' topic and this week Year 3 created their own evacuee labels and instead of using pen and ink they used berries! How resourceful!

School Council and Spitfires!

The second week in and the pace hasn't slackened! We have been busy writing our manifestos and thinking of ideas on how to improve our already amazing school! Ideas shared were 'Bring your Pet to School Day', hot chocolate in the winter and a zip wire from the Forest School to the playground! As of going to print we still don't know who our school council representatives are - but good luck to you all and well done for standing!

Operation Pied Piper has certainly grabbed the imagination of the children as their playtimes are taken up with WW2 adventures, dog fights, and evacuations and Mrs. Tidswell and I are thrilled they have taken this topic to heart and throwing themselves into all aspects. We were very lucky that Brooke was able to bring in a piece of a spitfire which had crashed into her sister's Godfather's field and a few years ago the site was excavated and the spitfire was discovered. It certainly brought WW2 to life and the children could actually handle a genuine piece of WW2.

Welcome to Year 3!

Welcome back! Summer seems to have whizzed by and now we are all getting to know one another and new routines. It has been a great week and we have hooked up with our Reception buddies and we promise to look after them and show them the way. Our doors are always open so please get in touch if there are any issues you would like to discuss or send us an email and we will reply by the end of the working day.

Show and tell this morning in 3A couldn't have been more diverse! Tilly brought in a porcupine's quill which had been found in her pony's field in South Africa and Arabella shared a letter she had received on behalf of the Queen thanking her for her interest in the Princes in the Tower! I wonder what next week will bring!

Cut Throat Celts

What a fantastic day we had out in the Forest on Wednesday. The school was thrown back 2,000 years and invaded by Cut Throat Celts. There ...
