Yippppeeeeee we're back!

Hooray we're all back and raring to go for the rest of the term! It's great to see everyone and listening to the excited chatter of the children and staff too! It's been straight back to it and the children are learning all about the Celts and they had a very lively discussion comparing the Romans and the Celts way of living.  There were a few Romans who changed sides to the Celts as they sounded as though they were having more fun!

Clubs made a welcome return and there is such a variety for the children ranging from Easter craft activities to Drama and Uni Hockey to No Bake Cookery!

Forest School was all about the Celtic Tree of life - which represents wisdom, long life and strength to the Celts.

Coming to the end of our Perimeter topic and the children had great fun using the Trundle wheel and metre sticks to measure the perimeter of the playground.... there were a few discrepancies in the total!

We have been busy making well deserved treats for Mummies ahead of Mother's Day. We are sure that the paper floral bouquet will be well received.

In English we have picked up from where we left off during home learning with our newspaper reports. The children identified the key features within news articles and enjoyed reading the news!

What an exhausting week we have had but a great week it has been! Wishing all our Mummies a relaxing and spoily Mother's Day - and there won't be any home schooling!

Festive fun and frolics

What a wonderfully busy festive week to end a fantastic term!

Year 3 have had such a busy week enjoying all the planned festivities in the run up to Christmas. Our play is complete - the actors and actresses certainly looked their part and thoroughly enjoyed their final performance which was filmed for us all to enjoy. We hope that you loved watching it with your mince pies!

Sadly we have to report that poor Mrs Teesdale and Mrs Donaldson have had terrible trouble yet again this week with the naughty elves. Their antics included ripping down Mrs Teesdale's beautiful display on magnetism, making a terrible mess in Mrs Donaldson's classroom by helping themselves to snacks, hanging from the newly decorated Winter Wonderland corridor and you won't believe this but they even caused mayhem with the animals by riding around on the back of the goats!! All this - despite us being reassured by Father Christmas himself after they were sent back to Reindeerland last week that their behaviour would improve!

Thank goodness the term is ending and hopefully Mrs Teesdale and Mrs Donaldson will not have to endure any more antics and further disruption from the pesky pair!
We are all poised for the Santa Fun Run this afternoon and thank you to everyone who donated to the Sue Ryder Hospice.
All that we need to say is have a superb Christmas and a brilliant New Year. We look forward to another great term in 2021.

Cut Throat Celts

What a fantastic day we had out in the Forest on Wednesday. The school was thrown back 2,000 years and invaded by Cut Throat Celts. There ...
